Samarkand: Routes to Riches
Rich merchants and their families ply the Silk Route of the Orient with their caravans in order to make lucrative business. The players assume the role of traders who marry into other families to extend their influences. Who will be the richest merchant?
Samarkand is a family game with its simple to understand rules and fast access to play.
This entry has been split from the Winsome Games publication Age of Scheme: Routes to Riches. As the rules have been altered, number of players differs and updates to the artwork have been made, the two games are regarded as separate entities.
Ten Trading Families are used in Samarkand: Byzant, Egypt, Levant, Alan, Tigris, Arab, Persia, Hun, China, Sindh
The game is set in 450 AD. Represented in Samarkand are 33 rare goods sought after by trading in ancient times, including Pepper, Gold, Silk, Myrrh, and Murex, the source of purple dye.
